Welcome to the Crown Chakra ~ Sahasrara
In this instalment you will learn about the signs of a balanced and imbalanced Crown Chakra and discover ways to help keep your body in harmony and at ease. Always trust in your intuition, take only the information that feels right for you and leave the rest to one side. If you haven't already done so, you might want to start off by reading "Introduction - A beginners Guide to Chakra Balancing."

Crown Chakra
The Crown Chakra is located on the top of your head. It is your chakra of wisdom and divine love. Filling you with spiritual awareness, inspiration, devotion and trust in life. Connecting you to the universe and your higher purpose on Mother Earth. The Crown Chakra is represented by the colours violet to white and the elements of cosmic energy, inner light & thought.

Signs of a Balanced Crown Chakra
When your Crown Chakra is balanced, you are filled with inspiration, joy, serenity, fulfilment and trust in life. You are open-minded and motivated to reach your goals. You sleep well and have the ability to find peace in your surroundings. You connect with others, experience a lot of pleasure in your life and have a deep sense of gratitude. You act, think, and speak with love and wisdom.

Signs of an Imbalanced Crown Chakra
When you have an imbalanced Crown Chakra, you may lack inspiration, enthusiasm and optimism, feeling disconnected from your physical body and earthly matters. You can feel lost as though you're wondering around without a purpose or direction in your life. You might lack empathy and compassion towards others. You can become greedy, materialistic and bored with life. You may suffer from migraines, lethargy, depression, nervous system disorder, skin conditions and dementia.

Questions for your Crown Chakra
These are some questions you may wish to ask yourself:
Am I motivated to reach my present goals?
Do I find peace in my surroundings?
Am I stressed at work?
Am I lacking sleep?
Why do feel empty and disconnected?
What is causing my headaches?
What can I do to shift this boredom?
Do I lack empathy and compassion towards others?
Crown Chakra Guided Meditation
Listen to the 10-minute Reiki Crown Chakra guided meditation.
State out loud or quietly to yourself: “I am open to receive messages and guidance.” Allow any thoughts, memories or emotions to rise to the surface with little resistance. If any thoughts are persistent, simply state, “I acknowledge you, thank you,” and bring your focus back to your breath. Once you have finished listening to the guided meditation, take a moment to sit and reflect on your experience.

Journal
Write down anything that came up during the guided meditation – thoughts, memories, sensations, feelings and emotions.
Here are some questions you may wish to ask yourself.
* How did I feel during this session?
* What can I do to feel more motivated in my daily life?
* What can I do to start creating peace in my life?
* What do I need to do to feel more connected to my higher self?
* How can I teach myself to be more open-minded?
* What brings me joy and fulfilment?
* What do I need to do to keep joy flowing around me? * How can I show gratitude daily?
Referring back to the 'Signs of a Balanced Crown Chakra’ and 'Signs of an Imbalanced Crown Chakra’, write down anything that applies/resonates with you. Be completely honest with yourself.
Look back through your journal at notes you first made in "Introduction - A beginners Guide to Chakra Balancing." to see if anything resonates with the Crown Chakra. Take your time to focus on any issues. How would you advise your friend if they were to have had these same issues? Write this down. Often, we already have the answers. Always seek professional help if needed.
Spend at least three days, preferably more, focussing on your Crown Chakra, journaling anything that comes up over the days ahead. Remember, you cannot change your past, so what can you do to create changes as you move forward?
Below, you will find some ways to help support a healthy and balanced Crown Chakra, which in turn will help to bring more harmony to your overall well-being.

Feeding your Crown Chakra
You can feed your Crown Chakra with purple fruit and vegetables, but also include white fruit and vegetables as well. Think beyond the skin, as a lot of fruit and vegetables are white on the inside.
*apples, pears, coconut, dragon fruit, banana, lychee, soursop
*cauliflower, garlic, turnip, onions and mushrooms, leek, parsnip
As you are eating your food, imagine they are healing your body, with every bite. You can also state ‘I am sending love to my Crown Chakra. I choose to heal my body.’ Try creating a mantra that really resonates with you.

Essential Oils for the Crown Chakra
Frankincense, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Lotus and Cedarwood are beautiful oils, which can be used to support the healing of your Crown Chakra. Lavender oil can also be used for all chakras.
Add a few drops to a room diffuser, to release the essential oils into the air. Mix with a carrier oil and gently rub onto your pulse points - wrist, inside elbows and behind your ears. Add oils to your shampoo and enjoy a deep head massage.
Light a violet candle to bring focus to your Crown Chakra. These can be scented or unscented. If you don’t have a violet or purple candle, then a white one will work just as well. You could also use incense sticks or room sprays.

Crystals for the Crown Chakra
Purple, violet and white crystals are used for the Crown Chakra. Try using Amethyst, Charoite, Lepidolite, Howlite and Selenite. Clear Quartz is another powerful crystal and can be used for all chakras, either alone or with other crystals to amplify their affects.
You can hold a crystal in your hand or place it on or near your Crown Chakra, whilst meditating and anytime you need to focus. If you do not have crystals, you can visualise or imagine violet or white light surrounding you. If you have a special pebble or stone, you can use that instead of a crystal. As always, it’s all about your positive intentions.

Things to do to boost the Crown Chakra
*Wear violet or white clothing, accessories and jewellery.
*Carry violet, white or clear crystals in your bag or pockets.
*Find somewhere in nature to sit, breathe and observe all that's around you,
*Plant a seed and follow its growth journey.
*Observe changes in a tree.
*Watch the clouds move and change shape across the sky.
*Feel the sun or cold air against your skin.
*Join a yoga class.
*Practise mindful breathing.
*Practise positive affirmations.
*Read a book and listen to a podcast about self-growth.
*Declutter a space in your home.
*Relax in a bath full of lavender scented bubbles.

*Enjoy an Indian head massage.
*Be aligned with what is.
*Listen to Solfeggio frequency 963 Hz to heal your inner spirit and give you a sense of calm & well-being.
*Listen to Cosmic Octave 172.06 Hz allowing you to connect with the divine and elevate your spirit.
*Put on a violet or white abstract background video on your tv screen or laptop.
*Meditate daily.
*Notice and challenge your thoughts, then ask, ‘Is that true?’
*Learn Emotional Freedom Techniques – EFT
*Learn something new and expand your mind.
*Create a personal alter.
*Be open to guidance.

Positive Affirmations
Positive affirmations should be said as often as possible, even if you don’t believe them to be true. Say them in your head or out loud or you can write them down. If you catch yourself saying something negative about yourself, create an affirmation which states the opposite and repeat it three times. Words are powerful. If you’re able to, stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes and tell yourself how amazing you are. You might feel uncomfortable, and some unwanted emotions may arise. If this happens, acknowledge it with little resistance and write it down in your journal.
Use any statements from ‘Balanced Crown Chakra’ to create positive affirmations. You can make up your own statements. Statements can begin with the words “I am…”, “I have…” or “I can…”, although they don’t have to. As long as you use the present tense, as if it is already happening, it will have the same results.
*I am guided by my inner wisdom.
*I am grateful for all the good things in my life.
*I am at one with the world.
*I am connected to the universe.
*I am open to all of life’s experiences.
*My life is beautiful and sacred.
*I am open to knowing myself more deeply.
*My crown chakra is open and in perfect balance.
*I honour the light in myself and the light in others.
*I live in the present moment.

Chakra balancing is an ongoing part of your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical well-being. Focus fully on your Crown Chakra for at least three days. Do as many of the activities as you can, listen to the Crown Chakra guided meditation at least once a day and have fun bringing colour and creativity into your life. Your body will thank you for it!

Choose favourite activities and incorporate them into your daily life. Recite positive affirmations every day. Put yourself first. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself unconditionally.
